Hatchworth's Room

This Hatchworth's room is a little larger than that of his younger self, though not by much. There isn't much here aside from a bed, a few drawers, and a little window looking out over the yard. He doesn't need anything fancy. The most important part, anyway, is that it's near his brothers' rooms.

The hand remained there where it was, noting the shuddering but not bringing any further attention to it himself. Noting down all of these little things, things he'd encountered with the other bronze 'bot. He understood there was nervousness, something awkward.

Never pried what, was never told, and he didn't want to push.

"That may be a very good discription for many things in this place."

[hatchworthy]

"Yes."

And with that, Hatchy had absolutely no idea what else to say. What did you say? There was too much, and absolutely none of it was anything the man should even really hear. Nothing he needed to know, in Rabbit's words.

So, in lieu of any of those things, the bronze 'bot settled for a simple, quiet, "It is. good to see you. again, Pappy."

"It's good to see you too, Hatchworth."

Peter wasn't an overly affectionate man, but it was without hesitation that the Bronze 'bot got something of a small hug- "Very good, even in such strange circumstances as this city provides. I would never have gotten to see how you boys turned out otherwise, and I am sorry for that." It wasn't lingering, or a long hug with how nervous his youngest was.

It took a few seconds, but Hatchworth slowly raised his arms to return the hug as well as he could. He didn't mind when it ended, quietly drawing back, but...well, it had been nice while it lasted.

"It is. okay."

There was a firm pat to the bronze 'bot's shoulder, "Mm. Keep in mind you're welcome to come find me in the workshop if you need something, if I'm not in my room." His smile turned to something more akin to amusement, "It's the one right beside Rabbit's, if no one had told you yet."

Leave it to Rabbit to take the room beside his creator's?

Of course he had. Hatchworth nodded slightly. "Yes. sir." It made him glad to think how happy Rabbit must have been to see their father again. Though he hadn't been there when it happened, even seventy-odd years later he could see how badly the loss had hit his oldest brother.

It had been quite the reunion, and Peter had come out of it with a few oil stains on his shirt. Even he couldn't miss how his absence had affected his oldest.

"There was a firm pressure of Hatchworth's shoulder, making up for how little a squeeze would have conveyed anything, "Good, good. Have you been told about family dinner yet?"

[hatchworthy]

"Family. dinner?" That wide, blinking blue stare was a definite no, Pappy.

... Have another shoulder patting, Hatchworth.

"Family dinner is when all of us gather at the table for dinner," All of them. "Since we've a limited number of chairs, due to our low income, some have to... share. So far your brothers have been lending lap space." That is likely exactly as it sounds.
