Full Name: Hatchworth
Nicknames: Hatchy, The Hatchmeister (no one actually calls him this, but he insists that his friends do), Hatchworthless (I'm very sure no one ever called him this either he makes up most of these himself tbh)
DOB/Age: 1896 / 117

hatchworthy
PB: Samuel Luke, really, but I'm using fanart because that makes more sense
Holoprojection Human Interface PB: I...guess Sam Luke? That could be funny. Also idk who else has such a magnificent mustache.
Canon Point: Shortly after the band's third album release, in December 2013
Appearance: Hatchworth is made entirely of bronze, though he was originally built from a cast-iron stove. Echoes of this can still be seen in the hinged glass hatch in his chest, through which you can see a brightly glowing blue rift in space. Unlike his siblings, he doesn't conceal his core at all; there's a clear window in the black-and-red jacket he wears during shows, which can open and allow free access to his hatch when he wants it. The hat he wears is also designed especially for him, as he has a stovepipe sticking out of the side of his head to help vent steam.
His eyes also glow blue behind his glasses, which as a robot he both has and inexplicably seems to require. Of course, his most notable feature is his magnificent, bright orange mustache. Why he has hair and a mustache is, of course, completely unimportant. Hatchy's very proud of the Hatchstache and takes good care of it. It unscrews, and when it's off you can see his teeth; he basically has no upper lip of any sort and it is horrific.
His head also unscrews. Sometimes he spins it around like a possessed child when he gets excited. Also, he talks like a demented Speak 'n Spell.
History: Hatchworth was the fourth robot built by Colonel Peter Walter I, after the original three-man band. Unlike them, he wasn't originally built to play music and woo pretty women; instead, he was made to help fight a war against zombie-driven copper elephants in Africa. The Weekend War was traumatizing to all the young robots who fought in it, but Hatchworth had known very little before it. He wasn't quite as affected as the original three.
After the Weekend War ended, Hatchy's weapons were disabled and he was put to work as the Walter family's butler. It was here that he earned his name, for the hatch's worth of delicious sandwich that he was capable of producing at any given moment. The Walter family wasn't the sort to question where these came from; everyone was mostly just happy that he wasn't still spitting out spare ammunition. He went to war once more when America entered World War One, alongside his brothers, but this time they worked with search and rescue units so it was unnecessary to reactivate his cannon.
Things were peaceful from then on - until 1938, when the Walter Manor For some reason, all the kittens and puppies began transforming into giant, ferocious badgers. Hatchworth tried to help by shoving the badgers though his hatch and away, but this just resulted in them suddenly materializing five miles away and causing more chaos there. An investigation after the incident found that a hairline fracture had been growing in Hatchworth's core, allowing dangerously unstable Blue Matter radiation to leak out and start affecting the fabric of reality. Colonel Walter I was the only person with the expertise to fix it, but he was bedridden at the time, and so Hatchworth was locked in a leaden vault in the basement until a solution could be found.
Hatchworth spent the next 72 years sitting alone in a dark room. Sometimes there were spiders.
In 2010, Peter Walter VI had his own accident with Blue Matter, leading him to an epiphany about the old problem of Hatchworth's power core. Finding where the old blueprints had been stored away, he came up with a solution and finally brought Hatchy back up out of the vault. As it happened, his brother The Jon was planning to leave Earth shortly to go attend to his mayoral duties in Kazooland, so Hatchworth was upgraded with musical capabilities as well and sent out to play with the band.
Though he was overjoyed to be out and playing with his brothers, Hatchworth was a little unsure and timid in his first shows. He looked often to The Spine for guidance and reassurance; his oldest brother Rabbit's malfunctions often frightened him. As he spent more time in the outside world, though, he quickly gained confidence and began joining in with Rabbit's fun - which mostly involved poking fun at The Spine. He wrote several songs of his own for the band's new album, most of which didn't really make sense. Rabbit was also upgraded and got her gender adjusted, because she'd actually been a girl robot all along!
Personality: Whether because of the isolation, the radiation, or both, Hatchworth's time in the vault has had a pretty obvious effect on his personality. He's just a little bit off; a lot of the things he says follow strange, circuitous logic that only makes sense in his own head, and he has a strange predilection towards "jokingly" threatening arson. He's easily dissuaded, but it's pretty likely that he's not actually joking. He just seems really fascinated by fire. He's also very fond of spiders, as they were his only companions while locked away. The fact that his rather morbid interests might disturb other people never really occurs to him.
Though he tended to be rather unsure of himself upon first coming out and joining the band, he's become much more confident after only three years on the outside. He's become much more playful, often joining his sister Rabbit in her shenanigans. These are often at the expense of The Spine. He's also revealed a sassy side, designated by him as Sassworth. He's a pretty equal-opportunity sasser, from his siblings to the fans who ask him questions on Tumblr. Perhaps because of his time spent locked away, he's very into new technologies and media. He's made Vines while on-stage in front of an audience before. It's easy for him to get caught up in new trends, or really anything. After spending so much time alone in the dark, basically everything outside is just really exciting to him, and will probably continue to be so for a good long while.
Despite the trauma he's been through, Hatchworth is a pretty relentlessly upbeat robot. He doesn't have any sad songs to his name like his siblings, and he's even learned to play on the audience's sympathies to get "awwwwwws" onstage, only to gleefully point out that it was all an act. But he's obviously been affected by everything that's happened to him. He's known to question reality sometimes, and often seems to forget where he is and what he's doing, sometimes wandering right offstage in the middle of a show. On the bright side, this combined with living in the Walter Manor means that there is extremely little that's weird enough to faze him. Hatchworth also tends to react extremely badly when his siblings malfunction; even though Rabbit breaks down every show during a particular song, it scares Hatchy enough to make him flee and hide every time. He also has a habit of buying massive amounts of organic produce whenever he sneaks out on his own, because he does not want it to die alone and unloved on the shelf.
Special facts/special abilities about your character: Hatchworth is powered by a semi-stable space-time rift formed by Blue Matter in his core. In the past, he had a cannon attached to his chest and used this to shoot various random projectiles, ranging from blasts of pure Blue Matter to cutlery. Nowadays, though, he's taken a Vow of Peace. The rift is now protected by a glass hatch, and will mostly only produce mysterious yet delicious sandwiches. Other objects can appear, but it happens at random and is outside of Hatchworth's control. Objects small enough to fit through the hatch can also be sent into the rift, but it's pretty much impossible to tell where those will end up.
Aside from that, he's got all the normal benefits of being a robot. He's very strong and durable, though he's slower and more stiff in his movements than his siblings. His senses are also much more sensitive than a human's. As long as he has water and some regular maintenance, he could theoretically last for a very long time indeed; after all, he managed to survive even without any upkeep in the vault. He can connect to Wi-Fi, and he and his siblings also share an older network connection allowing them to communicate with each other over short distances. Like The Spine, his head can also come off; however, it's basically a giant screw, so unlike The Spine he's immobile when not inside his chassis.
The only weapon he was ever equipped with was a collapsible cannon in his chest, built to let him fire mysteriously-appearing ammo from his rift. It has since been deactivated, and he cannot use it unless that programming breaks.
Hatchworth also knows basic first aid and can speak several languages, mostly those that were deemed useful for him to download during the war. He's a very good cook even disregarding his sandwich-making abilities, though he's eccentric enough that he probably shouldn't actually be left alone in a kitchen.
What is arriving with your character? The bass guitar he had onstage, a metal water bottle, a small bag full of fake mustaches (with adhesive on the back!), a book of matches, Combsworth the mustache comb.

Writing Samples
1. First Person Writing Sample: You know. it is very rude. of this dimension to just go and kidnap. people.
[The bronze robot says to the network, apparently skipping any kind of introduction. He's holding the Farnsworth upside-down.]
You would not see. Kazooland doing something like this. or at least if it did. it would leave your family. a fruit basket. or something. Maybe you should send. your dimension to etiquette classes. or get it a trainer. If it keeps this up it is. likely to get set on fire.
2. Third Person Writing Sample: Woooo other game threads
3. First or Third person Sample: When Hatchworth left the Manor he was, of course, wearing his fake mustache disguise over top of his real mustache. Not only did it make him completely unrecognizable, it totally hid the fact that he was a robot just casually wandering the streets of San Diego!
Rabbit had come with him on this particular mustache-venture, but she split off on her own a while ago to go steal some McNuggets or something like that, so now Hatchy was by himself. She would find him again before they had to go back home; he usually got lost otherwise. His sense of direction wasn't very good, and the last time he had tried to board a bus back home he ended up somewhere with a beach. Peter and Michael had been cleaning sand out of his joints for weeks. But hey, at least he knew how to find the grocery store!
He waved merrily to the clerks as he entered, setting off a wave of giggles and whispers. Awwww, they were so friendly! One he recognized came over. "Hi. You looking for the organic produce again?"
"You got it. friend-o. Especially the bananas." He had read that sometimes there were giant tarantulas hiding in them. Maybe he would hit the jackpot! After the girl showed him over (they were always moving things in here - either that or he just forgot where they were), Hatchy quickly began stocking his baskets with fruit. "There you are. You are a very. good cabbage. I am sure someone. will just love to eat you. and if not then we will. make sandwiches together!" Six would probably eat it all, though. Hatchworth often took it upon himself to make sure he ate occasionally while holed up down in his lab, which pretty much meant that what he made, went.
"Okay everyone. here we go!" Hatchworth wasn't nearly as strong as The Spine, but he knew he could easily lift that many fruits and vegetables. Now to try and figure out the credit card machine again!
